US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said Washington is determining the pace and timeline of the military campaign against Iran, stressing that decisions are being guided by commanders in the field and that operations will continue as long as necessary to achieve American objectives.
"Our munitions are full up and our will is ironclad," Hegseth said, adding that the United States has "only just begun to fight" and intends to prosecute the campaign decisively. He warned that Tehran is miscalculating if it believes Washington cannot sustain prolonged operations, noting earlier this week that the war could last as long as eight weeks.
Meanwhile, the head of US forces in the Middle East, Adm. Brad Cooper, said Iranian ballistic missile attacks have dropped by roughly 90 percent since the start of the US-Israel war. Cooper also said US strikes against the Iranian navy have intensified, with more than 30 vessels sunk so far, including a large drone-carrier ship roughly the size of a World War II aircraft carrier, which he said was still burning as he spoke.
