The IDF has issued its broadest evacuation warning for Beirut to date, ordering residents of four major neighborhoods in the city's southern suburbs to flee immediately ahead of planned strikes against Hezbollah. Previous evacuation warnings in Beirut targeted specific buildings before strikes. This order covers entire neighborhoods.
IDF spokesperson Col. Avichay Adraee directed residents of Bourj el-Barajneh and Hadath to move east toward Mount Lebanon on the Beirut to Damascus road, and residents of Haret Hreik and Shiyyah to move north toward Tripoli or east via the Metn Expressway. "Save your lives and evacuate your homes immediately," Adraee stated, warning that any movement southward could endanger lives. The military said it will notify residents when it is safe to return.
