Iran may delay the selection of its next Supreme Leader to next week, Fars News Agency reports, citing an informed official. The official says the Assembly of Experts' final session to choose Khamenei's successor could be postponed until after his burial ceremony, with security measures raised to the highest possible level. The delay comes after Israel struck the Assembly of Experts building in Qom while members were actively counting ballots to elect a new leader, killing an unknown number of the 88-member body responsible for selecting Iran's most powerful figure.
