France is deploying anti-missile and anti-drone systems along with two frigates to Cyprus to bolster the island's defenses, the Cyprus News Agency reports. The deployment follows two phone calls between Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides and French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday, during which Christodoulides requested support. The decision comes after Iranian drones targeted the British military base at RAF Akrotiri and triggered evacuations at Paphos airport.
