Amazon has temporarily shut down its data center in the UAE after sustaining damage from Iranian strikes. The UAE has invested heavily in hosting AI infrastructure, and the facility represents significant and costly capacity that is difficult to replace.
Separately, Qatar's defense ministry says Iran targeted a power plant and a facility at its main LNG production site. Combined with an earlier strike on oil infrastructure at Ras Tanura in Saudi Arabia, Iran's targeting appears to be shifting toward critical energy and civilian infrastructure across the Gulf, moving beyond military installations.
