Defense Minister Israel Katz says that Israeli Air Force jets are now carrying out direct-delivery "stand-in" strikes inside Tehran, after the military secured air dominance that allowed aircraft to enter the city's airspace.
According to Katz, this marks the first phase of Operation Roaring Lion in which pilots are flying over the capital itself and releasing heavy munitions directly onto regime and internal-security sites. Until now, he notes, the attacks relied on long-range stand-off weapons fired from outside Iranian airspace, which typically carry smaller warheads.
With air superiority established and routes into Tehran opened, Katz says the operation is shifting into a pattern of sustained, high-intensity strikes across the city.
