By Sammy,

In its updated battlefield assessment, IDF now asserts that its initial wave of strikes inside Iran wiped out roughly 40 high-priority military commanders in under a minute. Among those the military says were definitively eliminated is Iran's chief of staff, Abdolrahim Mousavi, whose death has now been formally confirmed.

According to the military's account, these commanders were struck alongside other senior regime figures, including Ali Khamenei, during the opening phase of the attack. Mousavi-who had taken over after the killing of Mohammad Bagheri in the June 2025 war-is described as the official who oversaw Iran's security apparatus and directed the barrages of ballistic missiles that caused civilian casualties in Israel.

The military concludes that most of the top tier of Iran's security leadership has now been removed in these initial strikes.
