Reports from Oman indicate that Iran has now begun to attack military facilties in Muscat. The Oman News Agency (ONA) reported that two drones targeted the Port of Duqm. ONA reportes, citing Omani defense sources, that one drone struck the port, injuring one worker. The second drone landed in an open area, causing no injuries. However, shrapnel did fall near fueling stations for military aircraft.
This attack is notably the first time Iran has targeted Oman during this war. Oman does not host any actual US bases- but does give the US Military certain rights to operate within the country.
In addition, the US Embassy in Oman issued a shelter in place warning for all Americans in the country as a result of the Iranian drone attack.
At the same time, US bases in Djibouti have gone on high alert in response to Iranian attacks on Oman and potential attacks from the Houthis.
