The IDF says approximately 200 fighter jets have completed the largest military flyover in the history of the Israeli Air Force, conducting an extensive attack against Iran's missile array and defense systems in western and central Iran. The military says fighter jets dropped hundreds of munitions targeting approximately 500 objectives, including aerial defense systems and missile launchers across multiple locations simultaneously.
The IDF says the operation was conducted following precise planning based on high-quality intelligence, synchronizing hundreds of aircraft at the same time. The strikes on Iran's defense systems have allowed the expansion of Israel's aerial superiority over Iranian airspace and severely degraded Iran's offensive launch capabilities in western Iran, the military states.
One of the strikes targeted a site in Tabriz in western Iran, which the IDF says was used by Iran's surface-to-surface missiles unit to plan the launch of dozens of missiles toward Israeli civilians.
The Israeli Air Force continues to operate in Iranian airspace. The IDF states it will continue operating to degrade every aspect of the Iranian government's military capabilities.
