Unconfirmed reports indicate that major Iranian Navy and IRGC Navy bases along the Persian Gulf and Arabian Sea are being struck as part of the ongoing operation. If confirmed, the targeting of naval installations would align with efforts to prevent Iran from mining the Strait of Hormuz or disrupting maritime traffic in the waterway, through which approximately one-fifth of all globally traded oil passes.
