Follow up to our last post: The U.S. ambassador to Israel emailed embassy staff advising those who wish to leave to do so "today," urging them to secure any available flight from Ben Gurion Airport to a destination from which they can continue to Washington, the New York Times reported.
The ambassador warned that the embassy's move is likely to drive high demand for seats and stressed that the top priority is to exit the country quickly. While additional outbound flights may be available in the coming days, that is not guaranteed.
He told staff there is "no need to panic," but those considering departure should plan to leave sooner rather than later. A meeting with staff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Israel time to provide further details.
