The third round of U.S.-Iran talks is underway in Geneva, with Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi mediating.
Al-Busaidi met with U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner ahead of the discussions. The Omani Foreign Ministry said diplomatic efforts are "continuing with vigor and a constructive spirit," citing "unprecedented openness" from both sides to new ideas and solutions.
The ministry said conditions are being created to support progress toward "a fair agreement with executable guarantees."
The Iranian delegation departed for the talks venue earlier today. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman said the negotiations are focused on the nuclear issue, with Iran conveying its position on sanctions relief and its right to peaceful nuclear energy.
