By Sammy,

US Vice President JD Vance says Washington has recently reviewed intelligence suggesting Iran is attempting to restore elements of its nuclear program following the June US-led strikes on Iranian sites. Looking ahead to the Geneva meetings between the American and Iranian delegations, he restates the core US position, telling reporters: "The principle is very simple: Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon."

Vance explains that evidence has emerged indicating Tehran is moving to rebuild capabilities connected to a nuclear weapon, saying, "In fact, we've seen evidence that they have tried to do exactly that." He also notes that President Donald Trump is sending envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Thursday's session, emphasizing that Trump seeks to handle the nuclear issue "diplomatically, but of course the president has other options as well."
