Netanyahu scrapped his prepared remarks at the last minute and handwrote the speech he ultimately delivered

By Bernie,

Netanyahu scrapped his prepared remarks at the last minute and handwrote the speech he ultimately delivered just minutes before taking the podium, Israeli media reported.

In his address, Netanyahu emphasized the strength of U.S.-Israel ties: "The alliance with the US has never been tighter. There have never been relations like these between the IDF and the US military, between our security agencies and their security services."

He noted that he could have responded forcefully to opposition criticism but chose not to. "I have points here; I could answer you in kind, but much more forcefully. I could confront you with the truth that you are trying to disguise. I could, but this is not the time for polemics."

The decision to abandon his prepared speech and instead call for national unity signals the gravity of the moment as Israel prepares for potential conflict with Iran.
