A senior U.S. official confirmed that talks with Iran will take place in Geneva on Thursday, Barak Ravid reported.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told CBS that Iran is working on aspects of a potential agreement and its draft. "A diplomatic solution is still possible," Araghchi said, adding that the U.S. military buildup "is not necessary and will not scare us."
Separately, the New York Times reported that Iran is operating under the assumption that the U.S. will ultimately attack, and the Iranian military is at its highest level of readiness.
An Iranian official said it would be "wrong to expect 100% success in negotiations" and that Iran must be realistic. "Facing threats is done by raising the level of deterrence, and our armed forces are at full readiness," the official said.
