Speaking at the beginning of the weekly cabinet meeting
By Sammy,
Speaking at the beginning of the weekly cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Israel on Wednesday to strengthen ties across economics, diplomacy, and security. He highlighted a "special area of cooperation" in high-tech, emphasizing artificial intelligence and quantum technologies.
During the visit, Modi will address the Knesset at 4:30 p.m., visit Yad Vashem, and take part in a Jerusalem innovation event with Netanyahu. Beyond these bilateral engagements, Netanyahu outlined a broader regional plan, describing a "hexagon of alliances" that would include India, Greece, Cyprus, and selected Arab, African, and Asian countries.
He said the coalition would unite nations with shared perspectives on regional challenges, in contrast to what he called the "radical axes" of the Middle East, including the Shiite axis that Israel has targeted militarily and an emerging radical Sunni axis. Netanyahu added that stronger cooperation among like-minded countries could produce "great fruits" while safeguarding Israel's future security and influence.
