Home Front Command chief Maj. Gen. Shai Klapper delivered a classified briefing to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, stating that the IDF is prepared for any scenario. Klapper said one of the key lessons from Operation Nation of Lions, the 12-day war in June, is that shelters save lives.
Klapper presented a plan to close gaps in civilian protection with the goal of reaching 100% shelter coverage within a decade. He emphasized the home front is a significant component of national resilience.
Committee chairman MK Boaz Bismuth said after the briefing: "We are in challenging days. There is no citizen in Israel who doesn't ask themselves several times a day when a campaign against Iran will happen. The public is preparing. The authorities are preparing. Wars are won on the home front too, not just on the front lines."
