The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) says it was alerted to a security incident at sea involving gunfire between a commercial vessel and a small boat roughly 70 nautical miles southwest of Yemen's port city of Aden.
According to the UK-based maritime monitoring body, a white skiff carrying five individuals approached the vessel and made contact before small arms fire was exchanged. Two other skiffs were also said to be operating nearby at the time of the incident. Authorities are currently reviewing the details of what occurred.
