Israeli security forces say they intercepted a drone overnight between Saturday and Sunday that was attempting to transport a cache of weapons across the Jordanian border into Israel. According to a joint statement from the army and police, the Israeli Air Force detected the aircraft as it crossed into Israeli airspace and alerted ground units.
Forces from the 96th "Gilad" Regional Division, working alongside police officers, were sent to the area and carried out searches that led to the drone's discovery. Authorities say it was carrying 12 handguns, which were confiscated and transferred to police for further examination.
