Indirect talks between Iran and the United States took place today with Oman serving as the mediator, the Omani Foreign Ministry confirmed on X. Foreign Minister Badr al‑Busaidi held separate meetings-first with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, then with US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law.
Oman said the consultations were intended to "prepare the appropriate circumstances for resuming the diplomatic and technical negotiations," stressing both the significance of the talks and "the parties' determination to ensure their success in achieving sustainable security and stability."
