Iranian media report that US-Iran contacts have begun in Oman, with Abbas Araghchi representing Tehran and Steve Witkoff leading the American delegation. The launch of the dialogue was preceded by a warning from Araghchi, who said Iran would respond to any "excessive demands or adventurism" from Washington.
In his meeting with Oman's foreign minister, Araghchi emphasized that Tehran would rely on talks to advance its interests, saying Iran would pursue "the approach of using diplomacy to secure Iran's national interests" even as it remains ready to push back against pressure.
