Authorities are investigating a reported maritime incident in the Strait of Hormuz, after UKMTO received information about an event taking place roughly 16 nautical miles north of Oman, inside the inbound traffic separation scheme (TSS).
According to the report, a vessel was repeatedly hailed over VHF radio by multiple small armed boats and instructed to stop, but it ignored the request and continued along its planned route. UKMTO is advising vessels to transit the area with caution and report any suspicious activity.
