A KC-46A tanker callsign GOLD71 experienced a rejected takeoff at Moron Air Base in Spain due to a reported engine failure and eight blown tires, according to tracking sources. The incident forced the F-35A flight, callsign TABOR31, to divert to Rota Naval Base.
The deployment of stealth fighters and electronic warfare aircraft follows weeks of tanker, cargo, and surveillance aircraft movements that laid the groundwork for potential operations.
