The IDF says the Rafah Crossing will reopen on Sunday, February 1

By Sammy,

The IDF says the Rafah Crossing will reopen on Sunday, February 1, allowing limited pedestrian movement in both directions in coordination with Egypt, under the supervision of an EU delegation, similar to the framework used in January 2025.

According to the army, residents will only be allowed to enter or exit after receiving prior Israeli approval. The IDF adds that returns from Egypt into the Gaza Strip will be limited to residents who left Gaza during the war, and only after advance security clearance. Residents will undergo initial identification and screening at Rafah by the EU delegation, followed by additional screening at a checkpoint operated by Israel's security establishment in an area under IDF control.
