Israeli police say a suspect attempted to carry out a stabbing attack at the Tunnels Checkpoint south of Jerusalem earlier today, but no Israeli forces were injured.
According to police, Border Police officers noticed a man approaching the checkpoint on foot from the West Bank and stopped him for inspection. The suspect initially presented an identification card, but then pulled out a knife.
Security personnel at the scene opened fire, and the suspect was shot and neutralized. Police said his condition was not immediately known.
