Israel's Civil Aviation Authority head Shmuel Zakai told foreign airlines that the past weekend marked the beginning of a more sensitive period, according to N12. In a letter sent Sunday, Zakai stated that defense systems remain fully deployed at high readiness and inter-agency coordination mechanisms are stable and fully operational.
Zakai noted there is a possibility, though not high, that U.S.-Iran negotiations may resume, which could reduce tensions. The letter stated that if assessments indicate a reasonable level of safety cannot be assured, Israeli airspace will be closed without hesitation, as occurred in June 2025 and in April and October 2024.
