Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proposed that one of five newly approved Negev communities be named

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proposed that one of five newly approved Negev communities be named "Renanim," in memory of the late Ran Gvili, saying: "I propose that one of the communities be named 'Renanim', after the hero of Israel, the late Ran Gvili."

The announcement was made during Sunday's government meeting, where Netanyahu, together with Construction and Housing Minister Haim Katz and Settlements Minister Orit Strock, confirmed the establishment of five new communities in the Negev, calling it "a monumental settlement announcement."

Netanyahu said the decision reflects growing pride and momentum in the south, adding that the government is advancing the Negev "along several paths," including Jewish settlement. He also stressed the government's commitment to law enforcement in the region, saying: "There will be no 'Wild West' here."
