US President Donald Trump issued a sharp warning to Iran

By Sammy,

US President Donald Trump issued a sharp warning to Iran, saying the United States will not allow Tehran to obtain nuclear weapons and is prepared to act if it continues its nuclear efforts. Speaking to CNBC, Trump said Washington is actively assessing Iran's current position, adding, "We're going to find out where they stand right now on nuclear," and stressing, "They can't have nuclear weapons. They have to stop."

Trump also claimed that Iranian authorities halted planned executions of protesters after he issued a direct warning last week about potential US military action. "They were going to hang 837 people on Thursday," Trump said. "I told them, 'You can't do that.'" He added that he hopes further steps will not be necessary, while alleging that Iranian security forces had been "firing on civilians in the streets."

Addressing Iran's nuclear program more broadly, Trump argued that US military action last June prevented Tehran from rapidly acquiring a nuclear weapon. He claimed that without the operation, Iran would have reached that point within weeks. "If we didn't do what we did last June, they would have had a nuclear weapon in about a month," he said.

Describing the strike, Trump said, "We hit them hard with B-2 bombers," emphasizing that the aircraft were undetectable and that "every bomb hit its target." He added that the United States has since ordered 25 additional bombers, warning that while Iran continues nuclear experimentation, "at some point they're going to get the idea that they can't do that."
