The IDF said it struck and killed Abu Ali Salameh, a Hezbollah liaison officer in the village of Yanouh in southern Lebanon. The military stated that Salameh managed Hezbollah activities in the village and facilitated the embedding of the group's infrastructure within civilian areas.
According to the IDF, on December 13, 2025, Israel submitted a request to the ceasefire enforcement mechanism to act against a Hezbollah weapons storage facility in Yanouh. The military said Salameh received the report from the Lebanese Armed Forces and relayed it to other Hezbollah operatives, after which a gathering was organized to prevent the LAF from dismantling the site and allow Hezbollah to remove the weapons. The IDF stated that Salameh then coordinated with the LAF to document the property without the weapons present. The military said the actions constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.
