IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir visited Nevatim Airbase in southern Israel today and addressed Air Force pilots and personnel amid ongoing tensions with Iran. Zamir told aircrews that the IDF "will know how to strike powerfully in any arena against any enemy that threatens the security of the State of Israel."
Nevatim serves as the base for the IAF's F-35I stealth fighter fleet, which expanded this week with the delivery of three additional aircraft, bringing the total to 48, according to the IDF. Zamir told pilots they had "accumulated operational experience unparalleled anywhere in the world" during the 12-day war with Iran in June and that the military would apply lessons learned to ensure Israel's security. The chief of staff said the air force "constitutes the IDF's strategic arm" and emphasized readiness across multiple scenarios.
