Heightened Israeli Air Force activity continued Today with three tanker aircraft operating simultaneously

By Bernie,

Heightened Israeli Air Force activity continued Today with three tanker aircraft operating simultaneously over different areas of the country. One tanker has been conducting repeated holding patterns over Judea for the third consecutive day at approximately 13,800 feet. A second tanker was observed operating at lower altitude near Hatzor Air Base, while a third is flying at 22,000 feet over the Mediterranean Sea alongside the Nachshon Shavit SIGINT aircraft.

The Wings of Zion, the Israeli government's official aircraft, is currently flying toward Ben Gurion Airport. The movement may indicate asset repositioning amid the heightened security posture.

The sustained tanker presence over Judea, following the same track for three days running, suggests rehearsal of specific refueling procedures and coordinates rather than routine training. Multiple tankers positioned across different vectors simultaneously is consistent with preparation for complex operations requiring aerial refueling support along various routes.

The pairing of a tanker with the Nachshon Shavit over the Mediterranean is also notable. The Nachshon Shavit is a Gulfstream G550-based signals intelligence platform used to intercept communications and radar emissions. Its operation alongside refueling assets could support extended reconnaissance missions or indicate monitoring of potential threats from the north or east.

This activity comes as U.S. military assets continue flowing into the region. Three C-17 Globemaster cargo aircraft arrived at RAF Lakenheath from Ramstein overnight, according to our colleague Armchair Admiral on X. The cargo movements suggest additional aircraft deployments from Lakenheath may be forthcoming. The USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group continues its transit toward the Arabian Sea.

The parallel buildups suggest both the United States and Israel are continuing to position forces to maintain military options against Iran.
