The European Parliament has barred Iranian diplomats from entering its premises
By Sammy,
The European Parliament has barred Iranian diplomats from entering its premises, with parliament president Roberta Metsola saying the legislature will not "help legitimize" a regime she accuses of sustaining itself through "torture, repression and murder." In a post on X, she also voiced support for demonstrators in Iran who "continue to stand up for their rights and their liberty."
The move was followed by action in Belgium, where Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot summoned Tehran's ambassador in Brussels to express deep concern over developments in Iran. He said the situation is "more than worrying" and told Iranian authorities to avoid "any disproportionate use of force" and to heed what he called the peaceful demands of protesters.
