Police intervened in Bnei Brak after a disturbance broke out during a meeting for families of recruits to the IDF's ultra-Orthodox Hasmonean Brigade.
The army said protesters entered the venue and some behaved aggressively toward soldiers and commanders, prompting officers to restore order and bring the event to an early end.
The IDF condemned the violence, while media reports said several soldiers were taken for medical checks and that the brigade's commander, Col. Avinoam Emunah, was escorted from the scene as details of the incident continue to be reviewed.
