The IDF says it recently carried out a wave of strikes on several locations in southern Lebanon after identifying ongoing activity at underground sites used by Hezbollah to stockpile weapons. The army states that the continued use of these facilities directly violated the existing understandings between Jerusalem and Beirut, prompting the attacks.
In a statement, the IDF stressed that it will keep moving to neutralize "any threat to the State of Israel." The action comes despite claims by Lebanese authorities last week that Hezbollah had been disarmed in areas south of the Litani River - a declaration Israeli officials have publicly questioned.
