By Bernie,
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met today in his Jerusalem office with Nikolay Mladenov, the former UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process and the leading candidate to serve as the on-ground head of the international "Peace Council" for Gaza. According to the Prime Minister's Office, the meeting focused on principles for Gaza's future governance following the war, within the framework advanced by U.S. President Donald Trump. The proposed multinational body is expected to oversee a Palestinian technocratic administration, supervise reconstruction efforts, and support stabilization in the Gaza Strip. During the meeting, Netanyahu reiterated that Hamas must be disarmed and that Gaza must be fully demilitarized. He stated that any future arrangement for the Strip would be conditional on these requirements.
