After an unannounced IDF inspection in the West Bank, Central Command chief Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth warned that the army must assume a conflict could erupt without notice, saying the "baseline scenario we must prepare for is readiness for a surprise war."
The IDF said the review assessed three battalions from several brigades and two regional divisions, examining the implementation of procedures, the defense of outposts and the ability of forces to operate in both routine activity and emergencies.
Bluth described the inspections as "a vital tool" for exposing gaps early, allowing commanders "to learn, refine processes and continuously improve the readiness of our forces," as the army moves to strengthen preparedness across Central Command, which is responsible for the West Bank and central Isr
