The family of Ran Gvili, the last remaining deceased hostage still held in Gaza, met in Florida with senior US officials ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's expected talks with President Donald Trump.
According to the Tikva Forum, which represents the Gvili family and other hostages' relatives, Ran's parents, Itzik and Talik, together with his siblings, held what they described as an encouraging meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and White House Middle East envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. The family said the officials underscored that returning Ran is a priority for President Trump and pledged that Washington and Jerusalem are making major efforts to bring him home.
Separately, the Prime Minister's Office released images showing Kushner and Witkoff joining Netanyahu earlier in Florida for discussions with Rubio, alongside senior adviser Josh Greenbaum. Israel was represented by Ambassador to Washington Yechiel Leiter, acting National Security Adviser Gil Reich, and Netanyahu's military secretary, Roman Gofman.
Netanyahu also personally met with Itzik and Talik Gvili after landing in Florida, together with his wife, Sara, expressing support and telling them that all efforts are underway to return their son for burial in Israel. The premier's office said Talik Gvili accompanied Netanyahu on his flight to the United States, as the issue of Ran's return is expected to weigh heavily in the upcoming Netanyahu-Trump talks on advancing the next phase of the Gaza peace framework.
