In a historic policy shift, Defense Minister Israel Katz has authorized Jewish visitation to Joseph's Tomb
By Meir,
In a historic policy shift, Defense Minister Israel Katz has authorized Jewish visitation to Joseph's Tomb during daylight hours for the first time since 2000. The new regulations extend the departure deadline from 4:00 AM to 8:00 AM, finally allowing worshippers to remain at the site to recite Shacharit (the Jewish morning prayers).
Security officials are reportedly evaluating the possibility of further expanding these hours to allow for even longer stays. This move ends a 25-year period of strictly overnight access, marking a significant change in the security and religious protocols for the holy site in Nablus.
