A French media investigation has alleged that Israeli forces have expanded control inside Gaza by placing new yellow boundary markers far beyond the originally defined routes of the October ceasefire framework.
According to _Libération_, analysis of satellite images and footage filmed by Gaza residents indicates that over 120 markers have appeared in locations including Jabalia, Shejaiya and the Khan Younis area, enclosing more than half of the Strip. The report claims the marked zone now covers about 56% of Gaza, compared to roughly 53% when the line was first drawn, and points to a case near the Bani Suheila school east of Khan Younis where blocks were allegedly installed some 600 meters past the previously declared security buffer - in an area that had been housing displaced families.
In response, the IDF rejected the findings, calling the allegations "inaccurate." The army says the Yellow Line is only being marked visually and adjusted to local terrain and operational needs, stressing that troops are acting on the instructions of the political echelon and in line with the ceasefire's defined boundaries. It added that, "as much as possible," it works to minimize harm to uninvolved civilians in accordance with international law.
