Weekend Recap: Israel's Recognition of Somaliland Draws Widespread Condemnation

Updates on Beit She'an Terror Attack
Following yesterday's deadly ramming-and-stabbing assault that killed two Israelis near Beit She'an, the terrorist has been released from the hospital and transferred to Shin Bet custody for interrogation. Police arrested his two brothers, who had been living with him illegally within Israel, as well as his Israeli employer whose vehicle was used in the attack.
Israeli forces continue a large-scale operation in the terrorist's hometown of Qabatiya, with elite units imposing a full curfew, arresting additional suspects, and mapping the terrorist's home for demolition.
UNIFIL Reports Injuries from Israeli Fire
UN peacekeepers claimed that Israeli machine gun fire near the Blue Line left one peacekeeper with a mild ear injury during two separate incidents. UNIFIL said it had notified the IDF in advance of patrol activities and called the incidents serious violations of UN Security Council resolutions. The IDF responded that the gunfire occurred during routine operations and was not directed at UN personnel.

Police arrested five people during raids on a Bedouin town after masked individuals set fire to vehicles in a neighboring community in what authorities described as a revenge operation. Separately, what was initially reported as a shooting near the Hashmonaim checkpoint turned out to involve hunters, though searches continued to confiscate their weapons.
