A short time ago, police neutralized a suspect near Afula following a deadly sequence of attacks in northern Israel that left two civilians dead.
Israeli media say the assailant had first rammed another vehicle, lightly injuring the young driver, before killing a 68-year-old pedestrian in a hit-and-run. He then stopped near a bus stop on Route 71, exited his car, and fatally stabbed a 19-year-old woman who had been trying to hitchhike.
Chief Commissioner Danny Levy was en route to the scene as investigators checked whether the attacker was a resident of Qabatiya near Jenin in the northern West Bank.
