Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to brief President Donald Trump on options for possible new strikes against Iran, citing concerns that Tehran is expanding its ballistic missile program, according to U.S. and Israeli sources. The briefing is expected during a planned meeting on Dec. 29 in Florida, where Netanyahu is expected to argue that missile production and efforts to restore air defenses pose an immediate threat to Israel, the region, and U.S. interests.
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee echoed the concerns publicly, saying Iran's posture is "a threat, but not just to Israel, not just to the United States," adding that it poses "a real threat to all of Europe." Netanyahu is expected to present Trump with several military options, including potential U.S. involvement or support, similar to discussions held prior to the June joint operation against Iran.
Trump said the meeting has not been formally finalized, though Israeli officials have announced plans for Dec. 29.
