Senior Israeli officials said Friday that Iran is actively working to rebuild capabilities that were heavily damaged during Operation "Nation of Lions" about six months ago, particularly in the ballistic missile domain and air defense systems. The officials said these systems sustained significant damage during the operation.
At the same time, the officials stated that Israel assesses Iran's current capabilities to be substantially lower than figures cited in some foreign media reports. According to the officials, Iranian efforts are taking place amid mounting internal pressure on the regime, including a sharp decline in the local currency, rising fuel prices, and a severe water crisis.
