Multiple floors and corridors inside the Pentagon have been locked down and others evacuated over what officials described as a hazardous materials incident, according to CNN and the Arlington County Fire Department. Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said building systems had detected an air quality issue requiring precautionary measures "until we determine its significance," and that the Department of Defense was executing standard protection protocols, including a shelter-in-place order for the affected area. The Arlington County Fire Department said its hazardous materials team was operating at the Pentagon in support of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency.
